The build quality of the Taurus is pretty awesome for costing around $40. Never having held the real gun, I'd expect there is next to no difference except for the orange tip, and a higher metal content on the real deal.
It weighs a bit less than two pounds, with about a third of that in the mag. The body is made of an awesome polymer, the slide is a strong plastic and the grip is rubber. The grip is probably the most comfortable I have ever held. It feels amazing, end of story.
The mag is quite good, being well built, reliable and with a good capacity. In battle, you probably wouldn't need to reload unless you used this as a primary. 25 rounds in a spring pistol should last you a good amount of time.
One of my favorite features is the auto locking slide. Just like the real pistol, the slide locks back when you run out of ammo. This prevents dryfiring by making it clear when you're out. I also like the safety, instead of simply blocking the trigger from pulling like most guns, it disconnects something internally, allowing you to pull the trigger without firing. This means you can't accidentally break the safety by pulling the trigger while on safe.
Performance of the Taurus is plenty decent. Claimed FPS is 315, that seems accurate. It can't puncture a soda can at any distance except point blank.
Accuracy is exceptional for a spring pistol. It is difficult to hit a can at 40' or further, which is reasonable given the short barrel compared to any AEG. However, it wouldn't be much of a challenge to hit a person at 70-80 feet. Much further than that and the hop up starts to die off. The BBs hit the dirt at around 100 feet.
The Bottom Line
Pros:
Excellent build quality
Decent power
Good accuracy
Slide lock
Good capacity
Cons:
High price for a spring pistol
Summary: Overall this is an excellent spring pistol in pretty much every way. The only big con is the price being high for what it is. However, if you're like me and you want a secondary without having to mess with Green Gas or CO2 this is probably the best sidearm out there.
