As an experiment I made my own MagPul to see how they worked for reloading faster. I made this one out of duct tape for my Cyma CM032 M14 (review soon) and it works pretty well.
I made my MagPul non-sticky on every side so it is held on by friction rather than stickiness and is removable. Surprisingly, it has held on extremely well with just friction.
As far as reloading goes, I only have one magazine and one MagPul and no tactical vest so it's not exactly the ideal testing environment, but it seems like it would help make reloading a bit faster, and in battle, seconds count.
